Herdade da Calada

Our Story

Founded in 1854 by the descendants of the Duke of Lencastre, surrounded by cork trees and eucalyptus from Australia, Herdada da Calada is hidden between the soft hills of Alentejo.

The estate has a total area of 420 hectares, 55 which are vineyards and 126 are olive groves. The remain area is distributed by land, cereal cultivation and our magnificent rural accommodation.

Over the years, it has been submitted to several interventions and improvements, but preserves the beauty and elegance of main building original feature and today is one of the most modern and innovative wineries in Portugal.
